MacArthur Transit Village illustrates BUILD’s commit-ment to sustainability, due to its participation in a pilot program sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council to establish a new LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) designation for neighborhood development in sustainable communities.  Community benefits include a 5,000-square-foot childcare center, additional community space, and a new public plaza at the BART station entrance.  New bicycle paths and pedestrian-oriented streetscape will connect the proposed development to the greater community.
