Our major equity partner is the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), which has invested $175 million in BUILD. We also partner with developers—including the CORE Companies, Holliday Development, McGrath Properties, Pulte Homes and Sares-Regis Group of Northern California—who bring special expertise and local knowledge that help ensure a development’s success. These partners benefit from our track record of earning community and government support as well as our experience in dealing with unfamiliar planning considerations, a distinct and complex regulatory framework, and specialized financing techniques.
